1) The Blue Caftan after 3 4 2023
The first such film will be the Moroccan drama Blue Kaftan, directed by Maryam Touzani, which takes an empathetic and loving look at the subject of homosexuality, still a complete taboo in Morocco, and also looks at the institution of marriage in an attempt to defend it. All this is done through the depiction of the relationship between Mina and Halim, traditional clothing merchants - kaftans - whose delicate balance is upset by the arrival of the young and handsome Youssef. The drama Blue Caftan is the director's second film. She made her debut with Adam, which was screened at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival in the Un Certain Regard section. Three years later, Blue Caftan was screened in the same category and also won the Fipresci Award, making Tauzani one of the most distinctive directors of our time.
2) PIARGY after 17 4 2023
The wicked village of Piargy appears in the historical drama of the same name, a black-and-white film by Slovakian-Czech co-producer and director Ivo Trajkov. A modern symbol of Sodom and Gomorrah, a village engulfed perhaps by hell itself, a prophecy of the coming of the Antichrist and cruel punishment, but also a film about love, passion and hope.
