7 1 2023

Our multifunctional cinema hall with a state-of-the-art 4K projector and surround sound, where every Monday we screen a selection of the best from the world of contemporary and classic cinema, has been an official part of the Association of Czech Film Clubs since the new year! We host festivals, do screenings, invite guests, and accompany each of the films shown with an expert introduction. We pride ourselves on a well-thought-out dramaturgy and the quality of the films we show. In addition, we are expanding our partnerships, making our cinema more accessible than ever before. In fact, starting in January, you can purchase Telegraph Film Club membership cards at the Telegraph box office!

When presented at the box office, it will provide you with similar discount privileges, not only for FC screenings, but also for theatre shows and performances.

What can you use the discounts for? What can you look forward to seeing on the big screen?

We're dedicating the first few weeks of the new year to two cult films, pearls of the American 90s and a Nordic film festival to freeze you at the end of the month. There's plenty to look forward to and plenty to watch.

16 1 2023 20:00 THE DOORS: FINAL CUT

We love 90s movies in the US here at the Telegraph, so we can't pass up the newly restored version of another cult classic, director Oliver Stone's biopic THE DOORS, this time subtitled FINAL CUT. The story of Jim Morrison, leader of the legendary The Doors, is brought to life once again in a precise performance by Val Kilmer. Ride along with him on the road to success for one of the most famous bands in American psychedelic rock. No need to trip on LSD, Oliver Stone and the music of the Doors will get you to your desired state all by themselves.

23 - 30 1 2023 SCANDI - Nordic Cinema Showcase

The end of January traditionally belongs to Nordic cinema with a showcase of the best of this year's SCANDI! You can look forward to five films that have come to us from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland and Finland.

This year's edition, offers a real mix of genres and old and new. The first swallow of the festival will come on Monday, January 23, when the thriller ONO will start screening at 19:00. The film, which follows the story of a 12-year-old gymnast, Tinja, who brings home a giant egg from the forest with a mysterious creature inside, will be followed by a streaming online discussion with the film's director, Hanna Bergholm! More Nordic news awaits you during the weekend. They are the Norwegian romantic comedy BOMBASTIC JOHAN about a family of overly enthusiastic pyrotechnicians and then on Sunday evening the honest Icelandic drama SUMMER LIGHT, AND THEN COMES THE NIGHT, based on the novel by Jón Kalman. This year, however, SCANDI has grown to include cult films that have helped define national cinema. So this year we have a chance to peek into the mobster and crook ridden turn of the millennium Denmark. Examples of such films include the now-legendary Danish gangster film DEALER (PUSHER in the original), featuring megastar actor Mads Mikkelsen in one of his first roles, or even actor Zlatko Buric, now known from the current hit film The Triangle of Sorrow. Moreover, the DEALER trilogy is the project of Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn, a filmmaker who successfully made his way to Hollywood with his later films such as DRIVE and NEON DEMON. The contemporary and 90s North will come alive in our cinema. Scarves and sweaters to go. As is tradition at SCANDI, we turn off the heat.
