There's a cinema. There's a gallery. And in between there's TEFF .
Wednesday 11 – Saturday 14 November 2026
FEMMES FATALES. Fatal women. The kind that are not forgotten.
The concept of femme fatale has a long history. Seductive, mysterious and dangerous women appeared in mythology, literature and in the 19th century the modern idea of femme fatale was significantly formed in European culture. Medusa, Salome, sirens and later heroines who were able to charm, insecure and really stir up someone else's fate. On the movie screen, the femme fatale got another face and it was hard to take your eyes off her.
This year, TEFF is also taking the concept of a femme fatale in its own way.
Because fate doesn't just have to be the one we look at. It can also be the one who decides where we look. She stands behind the camera, draws, exhibits, directs, tells her own stories and is clear about what she wants to show.

The sixth year of the Telegraph Film Festival therefore belongs to women in front of and behind the camera. Film heroines and their authors. Directors, artists and illustrators of different generations. Some have already significantly impacted the history of Czech film, others are coming up with contemporary work and new themes. Each different. Each in their own way. From November 11 to 14, films, fine art, video art, lectures and meetings with creators will meet at the Telegraph. Four days dedicated to women who simply cannot be overlooked.
Don't expect one femme fatale. The Telegraph will be full of them.

dangerously attractive women.

19:30 IF PIGEONS TURNED INTO GOLD (2026) film
This year's TEFF closes with a very personal confession. Director Pepa Lubojacki recorded for five years
emotional stories of her own family. Why addiction robbed her beloved brother and two
cousins for relationships, a sense of security, health and a roof over their heads? And what if they are not behind all this?
addiction itself, but something that began much earlier? This internationally awarded documentary
from the Berlinale, and the official national representative in the Oscar race, brings an emotionally charged full stop
behind the festival.

The cornerstone of TEFF's dramaturgy is films. Unsurprisingly. Like last year. Do you know which ones?
Five feature films, two experimental films, a gallery, a comic, a discussion, a workshop and four days at FEMMES FATALES.
TEFF26 will open on Wednesday, November 11 at the Telegraph Gallery. WHITE NOISE by Anna Uddenberg literally fuses the human body with the office environment, furniture and infrastructure. A guided tour of the exhibition will play out the first of the forms of this year's theme before it gets dark. The evening will be taken over by Věra Chytilová and her SEDMIKRÁSKY . Sixty years since the premiere, a restored version and a film that has lost none of its audacity to this day.
Thursday will combine folklore, internet culture and first loves. Viktoria Štěpánová's VOLKLORE , awarded the Silver Student Oscar, mixes folk customs, social networks, fashion and the world of influencers in sixteen minutes. The screening will be followed by a discussion with the director. In the evening, Martina Buchelová's LOVER, NOT A WARRIOR : a feature-length debut about Andrej, Míš and one meeting that turns their routine lives upside down. The film won the Special Jury Mention at the Karlovy Vary IFF.
On Friday, we'll put down the camera and pick up a comic. During the lecture Comics as Direction, illustrator Berry26 will show how the rhythm of the page is created, how she works with composition, and how the reader's attention can be directed with images. Then back to the cinema: HOOF HERE, HOOF THERE in a digitally restored version and with an introduction by the festival's chief dramaturge Michael Bukovanský. And at 10:00 PM? THELMA AND LOUISE . A weekend trip that turns into one of the most famous freedom rides.
Saturday will start with scissors, paper and a little mystery. At the family workshop WHO IS HIDDING UNDER THE MASK?, you will create scribbles and new identities according to your own imagination. The evening will once again belong to Anna Uddenberg, this time on screen. The short experimental film USELESS SACRIFICE develops the themes of the White Noise exhibition and her interest in the body, control, identity and the environment that shapes us.
The last screening of this year's TEFF will be IF THE PIGEONS TURNED INTO GOLD by director Pepa Lubojacki. She spent five years filming her own family, searching for an answer to the question of what lies behind addiction and where the effort to help the person we love ends. The documentary won the Berlinale award for best documentary and was selected as the Czech representative for the Oscars. After the screening, we stay in the hall - a meeting and debate with the director will follow.
Four days of film, art and women that cannot be overlooked. Read more in the PROGRAM section.
