The sharing economy phenomenon is moving the world. Well, the movement stopped slightly in the spring, but now it is moving forward again. In Olomouc, several forms of alternative shared transport are now available, one better than the other. There are two bike-sharing companies, Rekola and Nextbike, and a new start-up project by Palacký University students, Eaglescoots, which focuses on electric scooters.
Dealing with daily street closures, detours, traffic jams and parking problems will discourage even the loyal motorist. We at the Telegraph support alternative modes of transport. That's why you'll always find plenty of space and racks in front of the building to place a bike (your own or a shared one) or scooter.
Bike racks are not just any bike racks. We will be installing these design gems from Estonian company Väliala in the coming days and we are looking forward to seeing them ourselves. The racks are flexible so they adapt to any bike and have a rubberised surface so they don't hurt the bike.
