What's coming up at the Telegraph Gallery in June?
If you visit the Telegraph Gallery regularly, you will know that our programme goes beyond the gallery space. In addition to the long-term exhibitions, there are pop-up exhibitions in the cinema and loft throughout the year, as well as residencies by Czech and international artists, always ending with an Open Studio in their studio. In addition, you can look forward to lecture series focused on the work of contemporary artists, the work of curators, and on contemporary art collecting with collectors, gallerists and curators.
This month is your last chance to visit Transylvanian Painting Today, an exhibition featuring a selection of works by contemporary Romanian painters associated with the so-called Cluj School, which resonates strongly on the international scene. Curated by Jane Neal, it offers a unique opportunity to see works that have shaped modern European painting. So at the start of the summer season, we will be treated to a vernissage, a new exhibition opening and an open studio.
1 6 2026 / 4pm Children's Day at Telegraph Gallery
As has been the custom in recent years, Telegraph Gallery will kick off June with a programme for the little ones. This time there will be activities inspired by the Transylvanian Painting Today exhibition. The event will include creative workshops where children will be able to use drawing, collage and other art techniques to create their own works of art inspired by Transylvanian legends. But adults will not be bored either.

11 6 2026 / 18:00 Dernissage / guided tour: Transylvanian Painting Today
As the exhibition draws to a close, the closing reception offers your last chance to see the works of 14 Romanian artists on display at Transylvanian Painting Today. Are you interested in a specific work or artist? Telegraph Gallery Chief Curator Mira Macík and Telegraph Gallery Producer Erika Kovačičová will guide you through the closing event and a docent-led tour. This gives you a unique opportunity to ask any questions that may have come to mind, for example, during your first visit to the exhibition.
23 6 2026 / 18:00 Open Studio: Maja Babič Košir & Nevena Aleksovski
The next Open Studio will be directed by artists originally from Slovenia, Maja Babič Košir and Nevena Aleksovski. On this occasion you will have a glimpse into their studio and find out what they have been working on during their residency. Maja Babič Košir's work includes sculptures, assemblages and spatial installations, exploring memory, absence and personal archive through found or family materials. Nevena Aleksovski, on the other hand, combines painting, drawing, installation and found objects and from a feminist perspective explores themes of displacement, memory, labour and historical transformation through a minimalist visual language.

25 6 - 24 Sep 2026 Signal V: A Selection of Objects and Installations from the Robert Runták Collection
At the end of the month, look forward to the opening of a new exhibition in the Signal series. Signal V aims to present a selection of iconic and mostly very large-scale installations from the Robert Runták Collection. This will create a unique place where several solitary works will be placed close to each other, which in their significance and especially in their exhibition history rank among the fundamental works of Czech art after 1989. The new exhibitions and interactive displays will feature works by artists such as Krištof Kintera, David Možný, Jiří Příhoda, and Milena Dopitová.

We look forward to seeing you!
