Premiere of a new short documentary from our production. Enjoy the atmosphere of the film premiere and the subsequent discussion with the filmmakers.
The short documentary film Signal from the 80s, directed by Michael Bukovanský,
offers a unique artistic reflection on the Czechoslovak art scene of the 1980s. The film
follows up on the exhibition project Signal IV: The 80s, which presented works from the Robert Runták Collection at the Telegraph Gallery. The film presents a vivid mosaic of personal stories of artists (Margita Titlová Ylovsky, Tomáš Ruller, Stanislav Diviš, Jiří David,
Václav Marhoul, Karel Babíček), curators, and the collection’s owner. The documentary reveals how the desire for freedom and defiance of that era shaped a new visual sensibility that, in the context of Czech culture, continues to resonate to this day.
