XPRNC #1-5: Morávek, Benýšek, Kapsia, Dohnal, Valta

2 2 2021

Have you also noticed how much office space is growing in Olomouc? And you also wonder who will fill them all? Nice job offers in the field of services, IT, start-ups... are still scarce here. Not to mention companies with international reach. And in general, it seems that fewer and fewer young people are going into business in Olomouc.

One of the Telegraph's main aims is to promote entrepreneurship. That's why we've decided to provide a regular dose of useful advice from the most knowledgeable. From people who have succeeded and whose business is somehow connected to Olomouc. So hopefully you will find them useful.

Richard Morávek

#1 "My motto: do things properly, or not at all. Nothing is about one person, work is a team affair. Having the right and motivated colleagues means taking good care of them too. I look at things through the eyes of the client for whom the product is intended. If I believe in something, I go for it, the energy will come back in a positive way. Partial setbacks must not discourage, the long journey requires patience. Go against the tide too, do things differently than others. This is what may prove to be the right path."

  • Richard Morávek, developer & investor (e.g. Galerie Šantovka)

Richard Benýšek

#2 "What would I recommend? A good education, not being afraid of challenges, not being afraid to get experience in operations and in any position. Also a good command of at least three languages, a driving license, to promote physical fitness and health. Go out into the world as a young person for an internship. To take an interest in my surroundings, my town/village, my family, the surrounding social establishment."

  • Richard Benýšek, forestry and farmland entrepreneur

David Kapsia

#3 "If one wants to experience adrenaline in life, I highly recommend the business. Entrepreneurship will bring self-discipline and perseverance to your life, but don't forget humility. What I see as important: You can't get others excited if you're not excited yourself!"

  • David Kapsia, head brewer and director of the Kosíř microbrewery

Jakub Dohnal

#4 "In my opinion, it is very important to look for out of the box solutions. Not to get stuck in your world view, but to look for contradictions and factual criticism. Surround yourself with people who bring experience and know-how from other fields, and read too."

  • Jakub Dohnal, lawyer, manager at Arrows

Michal Valta

#5 "One of the most important qualities for a successful business, in my opinion, is the ability and desire to get feedback from those around you. Asking people what they think, what they would do differently and why. What they like and especially what they don't like. To be able to take criticism and be grateful for it. To really want to know how people would act and what they think. Even if you end up doing it all your own way."

  • Michal Valta, founder of viaGood
