In the Olomouc region you can look forward to several interesting events in the new year, which are intended for both beginners and experienced entrepreneurs. Here, we would like to give you a sneak peek at three events you can look forward to in 2024, one of which you can attend directly at the Telegraph.

On Wednesday 17 January, Robert Vlach, Europe's leading expert on freelance entrepreneurship, who has been systematically supporting freelancers since 2005 as a columnist, consultant and founder of www.Navolnenoze.cz and www.Freelancing.eu, will join us at the Telegraph. Within the new format ON THE ROAD, with which he visits different places to connect and support independent professionals, he presents the advantages of working in coworking spaces and facilitates the personal sharing of contacts or know-how. You can enjoy from 1pm to 6pm a discussion about freelance entrepreneurship, informal networking with other freelancers and professionals, or a tour of the entire coworking space for those interested in joining.

But if you have an idea, or even if that idea is already taking shape, you might be interested in the UP Business Camp. It is a conference organized by the Science and Technology Park of Palacký University and consists of a program of several lectures and workshops of entrepreneurs not only from Olomouc. However, the highlight of the event is undoubtedly the Startup Duel, which represents a valuable opportunity for budding entrepreneurs. You can present your idea in front of investors and the public and get feedback from an expert jury, practice your presentation skills in front of an audience and the most interesting ones also get valuable prizes from the competition partners for their rocket launch. The theme of last year's competition was artificial intelligence and a record 21 applicants have signed up so far.

The last, but no less interesting event we would like to bring to your attention is the SMART Region Conference organized by the District Chamber of Commerce. This conference covers several selected thematic blocks on which experts present their contributions. In previous editions, these thematic blocks were divided into sections Startups and Digitalization, Industry 4.0, Smart Region and Cultural and Creative Industries. Each block usually includes three or more speakers. In 2023, the topic related to cultural and creative industries was even conceived as a discussion block put together by four experts, on the topic Culture as part of corporate culture - linking cultural actors and companies. However, there is also space for networking.
