Three times now, a creative afternoon for children - a workshop for the current exhibition Topography of Solitude by Michal Škoda - has been held in the outdoor spaces in front of the Telegraph building. The Telegraph had prepared several colouring books, some of which were linked to the current exhibition, while others were modelled on other painters of the last century who explored geometric abstraction in their art, like Michal Škoda. The children could choose the one that interested them the most, or paint all of them! The children could always see the work as the artists had rendered it in the original colouring book. It was then up to them to decide whether they wanted to follow this model or let their own imagination take over. The next challenge was in the Telegraph gallery itself. Here, the children were completing one of the paintings in the current exhibition - they had to correctly assemble and glue the cut-up, reduced size copy of the painting to the original hanging in the gallery. They then took all these creations home with them. During these fun activities, not only the children but also their escorts could enjoy live music. An Olomouc musician called Vlna accompanied his singing on an acoustic guitar. During his performance, original songs were performed, as well as well-known songs by Czech artists.
On Wednesday, 26 July 2023, from 15:00 to 18:00, a workshop for the current exhibition Topography of Solitude will be held again, where several creative tasks will await child visitors. How do artists create? How do you make an exhibition? And what is art anyway? The youngest visitors to the gallery space will learn all this and much more. The Telegraph connects, so it is important for us to connect child visitors with the world of art and show that there is nothing to be afraid of and that art can be fun.
