Marcela Vorlíčková (*1976) during her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague went through the ateliers of Conceptual Art, Graphic Art, New Media, and Monumental Art, thus acquiring an interdisciplinary artistic perspective. She currently works as a graphic designer and web developer. Since its inception, she has been an active member of the ArtMap project, she is part of the creative team of the One World festival and occasionally works as a curator.
She is also interested in automatic and generative drawing created with AI. She engages in spontaneous drawing in isolated moments of solitude, removed from everyday work and family life, in a state of calming, switching off, and detachment, when the senses are united into one perception. In the creative process, she incorporates her experience from many years of practicing Qigong and Tai Chi. Drawing helps her to become aware of herself, her surroundings, and the current situation. She records the flow of energies she perceives in her immediate vicinity – she connects to different places, natural elements, vibrations, plants, water, earth, wind, air... What is essential for her is to stay with the drawing for a longer time, to be in the drawing, to enter it, to experience it. She lets her hand flow intuitively over the paper without controlling it. The drawing continues beyond the format of the paper, entering the space and the viewer who experiences it within themselves. The process itself is as important to her as the result. She works with pencils, watercolours, pigments, oil sticks, inks, and other available mediums. She also tries new possibilities and technologies to help her capture the desired theme as accurately as possible.
