Are you interested in art? Do you want to learn something about contemporary art? The lecture series with the artists and curators themselves is the perfect opportunity to take a peek under the hood of the art world, talk directly with the artists about their own work and spend an evening in a pleasant environment. There are no limits to creativity in asking questions, because it is thanks to the attention of the audience that works of art live the life they deserve.

In a lecture series presentation dealing with contemporary artists and curators, Margita Titlová Ylovsky, one of the exhibiting artists in the current Connections exhibition, will be featured.

Margita Titlová Ylovsky (*1957) studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and soon became a prominent representative of the underground art scene of the 1980s, which radically defined itself against the official normalization of art. She chose a solitary path, reflecting in her own way current trends in world art, such as conceptualism, actionism, land art, body art and performance. She used her own body as the main means of expression, which she confronted with various situations in nature and in man-made environments. She documented her reactions and emotional gestures in photographs, but also recorded them, for example, with automatic drawing. With an elemental energy, she created monumental structural drawings in which she drew with lipstick, inscribed words - exclamations and fictional signs - and sometimes deliberately destroyed them, so that they gave the impression of the remains of magical rituals.
