The FUTURE GATE festival closes our summer cinema season. And as a preview for the full season, which will take place at TLG at the end of October, they've brought a cinematic bomb - ALIEN.

What's it like when an octopus-shaped mass attaches itself to the helmet of one of the astronauts, or more accurately, his face, in a fraction of a second? Despite Ripley's resistance that it's against safety regulations to take anything unfamiliar on board, Ash opens the door and lets everyone onto the spaceship. After some time, an alien organism is found on the floor, having detached itself. The affected astronaut appears to be in good health. However, while eating together, the diners witness a horrifying spectacle. Before their eyes, a creature crawls out of the astronaut's stomach, and before anyone can do anything, it disappears at lightning speed into the vast corridors of the ship. The nightmare begins - the monster is gradually kills off the crew and seems unstoppable...

FUTURE GATE

The 12th edition of the Future Gate festival will traditionally take place this autumn in Prague, Brno, Hradec Kralove, Pilsen, Olomouc, Hodonín and Šumperk. You can look forward to a competition of new films, a student film contest, genre legends, short films, and a documentary section. It's going to be big, it's going to be unforgettable.
This year's theme is The Human Body. We will explore topics such as cybernetic enhancement, genetic modification, and the involvement of artificial intelligence. What does it mean to be human? If we can enhance our physical abilities or even replace body parts with technology, aren't we losing something essential about our humanity? Is our body merely a tool that we can change at will, or does it have an inherent value and identity that deserves our respect? Future Gate 2025 will once again seek inspiration from films.
