The continuation of the popular Danish detective series by the legendary Department Q. A hit with audiences, led by the stellar Ulrich Thomsen, who once again portrays Detective Carl Mørck. After a rapid succession of shocking events, such as the suicide of retiring colleague Christian, Carl's younger colleague Rose sets out to solve an unsolved tragic death on the isolated island of Bornholm, and delves into her own traumatic past. Newly engaged Carl also arrives on the island and becomes involved with Rose and Assad in an old cold case of a dead girl found in a tree. The murder, officially written up as a traffic accident, is linked to both the local police and the local sect of sun worshippers, where young women have been disappearing without a trace for years. The cold case is reopened and Carl must solve it as soon as possible, as the island is becoming a very dangerous place. But as he investigates, he also looks into his dark past, which prevents him from living a happy life with his fiancée. Director Ole Christian Madsen ratchets up the pervasive tension and maintains the peculiar poetry of Jussi Adler-Olsen's book.
