November: What does the gallery do?

5 11 2024 | Autor: Eliška Skácelová

What are we planning for November at the Telegraph Gallery?

If you visit the Telegraph Gallery regularly, you will know that our programme goes beyond the gallery space. In addition to long-term exhibitions, you can look forward to pop-up exhibitions in the cinema and loft throughout the year, as well as residencies by Czech and international artists, always ending with an Open Studio in their studio. In addition, you can look forward to lecture series focusing on the work of contemporary artists, the work of curators, and on the collecting of contemporary art with collectors, gallerists and curators.

In November we will say goodbye to Jake Chapman's exhibition FLOTSAM & JETSAM, open a temporary exhibition at the Telegraph Loft and celebrate together the 5th edition of the exhibition.

2 - 6 11 2024 Zuzana Svatik Exhibition in Telegraph Loft
During Olomouc Design Days you have the opportunity to peek not only into the artistic soul of Zuzana Svatik, but also into the unique spaces of our loft. The exhibition of sculptures, in which Svatik deals with themes of female sexuality, sexual stereotypes and criticism of the nuclear family, is complemented by paintings by Slovak artist Anna Mária Beňová. The latter, like Svatik, depicts eroticism through pornographic motifs, but ironizes them.

2 11 2024 / 18:30  Artist Presentation.

Svatik will introduce the main themes of her work, such as female sexuality, sexual stereotypes, and critiques of the nuclear family, and offer deeper insight into her creative process, which combines ceramics and painting.

13 11 2024 / 18:00FLOTSAM & JETSAM: Guided Tour and Catalogue Launch
If you haven't had the opportunity to visit British artist Jake Chapman's exhibition yet, November will offer several special opportunities to do so. One week before the opening of FLOTSAM & JETSAM, there will be a guided tour and catalogue launch with art historian and curator Otto M. Urban. Admission to this event is free.

22 11 2024 GIMME ANOTHER FIVE: The Telegraph's fifth birthday

We don't take birthdays lightly at the Telegraph, which is why we have several special events coming up on November 22.

22 11 2024 / 12:00 Søren Dahlgaard: Portrait shoot

From 12 to 4pm, you can have your picture taken by Søren Dahlgaard with yeast dough on his head! His Dough Portraits series features photographs of portraits of people with a mass of dough on their face. The combination of the absurd element of dough, the grotesque and the partial anonymity of the person creates a unique type of portrait. Don't miss the opportunity to join in the playful art project and be part of the exhibition - many of the photographs will be seen in Søren Dahlgaard and Jakub Janovsky's exhibition at the Telegraph Gallery in 2025. Admission is free.

22 11 2024 / 5:30pm Unveiling of Sabina Knetl's sculpture

For her fifth birthday, we're giving ourselves the gift of a sculpture. And you can be there! You may remember the statue of the beast Michael Gabriel that has guarded the Telegraph until now. It will now be replaced by a statue by artist Sabina Knetlova, whose work is characterised by minimalist depictions of hand gestures, torsos and figures. The unveiling of the sculpture will take place at 5:30 p.m. with the artist in attendance.

22 11 2024 / 18:00 FLOTSAM & JETSAM Dernissage & Yoga with Jake Chapman and Mark Sanders

As mentioned in the introduction, we will be saying goodbye to Jake Chapman's exhibition FLOTSAM & JETSAM this month in an unconventional way. This unique event combines yoga with live noise music and crosses the boundaries to happening. A band consisting of exhibition curator Mark Sanders, artist Jake Chapman, conceptual Danish artist Søren Dahlgaard and Moldovan painter Alexander Tinei will play for your practice. Bring your mattress!

We look forward to seeing you!
