March: What is the gallery doing?

March 2024. What are we up to?

If you visit the Telegraph Gallery regularly, you will know that its programme extends beyond the gallery space on the first floor of the Telegraph building. In addition to exhibitions in the gallery, you can look forward to pop-up exhibitions in the cinema and loft throughout the year, residencies by Czech and international artists always ending with an Open Studio in the atelier, lecture series on the work of contemporary artists and the work of curators, and contemporary art collecting with collectors, gallerists and curators.

This month, the unique exhibition Connection ends, so we've put together three events related to it.

Wed 6 3 2024 / 18:00 Presentation of the artist: Karel Srp about Karel Malich

Are you interested in the work of contemporary artists and the activities of curators? If you'd like to take a peek behind the scenes of the art world and hear about fine art from the artists themselves, the lecture series Presentation is the perfect choice.

The first presentation will feature theorist and curator Karel Srp discussing the life and work of Karel Malich, whose works are currently on view in the exhibition Connection.

Wed 3/20/2024 / 18:00 PM Presentation of the atist: Margita Titlova Ylovsky

One of the fifteen artists exhibiting Connection is Margita Titlova Ylovsky. Her work is represented in the exhibition in two cycles of automatic drawings, which, however, show only one position of her work. Among other things, Margita Titlová Ylovsky has become famous precisely for using her own body as the main means of expression in several directions and media, such as conceptualism, land art, and performance. The artist herself will tell you all about it in her presentation.

Thu 28 Mar 2024 / 18:00  Connection: Dernissage / Guided tour / Catalogue launch The unique exhibition Connection reflects an authorial project of curator Terezie Zemánková, which she created in collaboration with curator Anežka Šimková, Telegraph Gallery's chief curator Mira Macík and exhibition architect Marek Ther.
On the last day of the exhibition there will be a dernissage with a guided tour, which will be conducted by the curator of the exhibition. This time, the enrichment of the dernissage will be the launch of the exhibition catalogue. In the texts written by Terezia Zemánková, Anežka Šimková and David Vod, you will learn about the concept of the exhibition, automatic drawing and the artists themselves.

During the dernissage we will say goodbye to the exhibition Connection, which will be followed by an exhibition by Slovak painter Andrej Dúbravský entitled GOOD BOY.
