Jakub Špaňhel (*1976) was born in Karviná, his reputation as an extraordinary painter has accompanied him since his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. Jakub's work is permeated by two lines – minimalism, consisting in the mechanical repetition of a motif using a paint roller, and a distinctive gestural expression, through which he records impressions from architecture, decoration and the space of sacred buildings or central banks, for example.
