Real world travelers are not just about collecting passport stamps. Our guests know it's about the experience. It's about the image. About the courage to go further, or closer, or deeper.
The middle of February and March belongs to travel lectures, where the guests will be returning travellers and real modern-day adventurers: guide Radovan Jurka, cyclist Tadeáš Šíma and photographer David Těšínský. In the second half of April, we will be introduced to Veronika Jiříčková, who has been riding her scooter around the world for eight years. Each of them has a different approach, but they all "suffer" from the same travel obsession. Each evening offers a different rhythm, a different energy and a different type of story - but always with an emphasis on image, authenticity and personal testimony.

Tadeas Sima, Cyclist and Adventure Hunter
Tadeas goes where others are led. The nearly 3,000-kilometre journey through Central America took him from Costa Rica to Mexico in the saddle of a bicycle, with a parachute in his panniers and a drone always at hand. He slept off-road, met people on the side of the road, peered into the world of poachers and wildlife, and climbed North America's tallest volcano, Pico de Orizaba. His narrative, which is physical, intense and full of movement, will be featured for the second time in the Telegraph.

Radovan Jurka, A Guide to Landscape and Time
Radovan doesn't chase viewers around a map. He guides them. This time (for the seventh time!) in the Telegraph, he takes viewers through the Inca landscapes of Peru and Bolivia, as well as the rugged north of America - Alaska and the Yukon. It shows how landscape shapes culture, the rhythms of life and the perception of time. With the viewfinder of his camera, he gives space to the people and customs of a place and the connections that are easily missed on a normal trip.

David Teshinsky, Photographer Without Fear
David doesn't take pictures of places. He photographs people's stories. He enters environments that confront, unsettle and break down stereotypes. After two years and new journeys, he returns to the Telegraph to bring us insights into, for example, alcoholism in Greenland, subcultures in Russia, Israel and Palestine, ghettos, war, illegal LGBTQ communities. For him, photography is not a decoration, but a weapon - a way of asking questions and showing the world without pretensions. His lecture is raw, personal and visually powerful. His book, ANOTHER BEAUTY, will also be available for sale at the event.

Veronika Jiříčková, the Cure for Restless Legs
Veronika has restless legs, so she rides a scooter. It all started eight years ago with an expedition to Iceland, and since then she has ridden her scooter thousands of kilometres in Cuba, Ireland, several times in her beloved Poland, or even in Italy and other European countries. In April she will tell us about her journey from ancient Pula through Slovenia, Czech Republic and Poland to the sandy beaches of the Baltic Sea. Come and hear what it's like to travel across Europe under your own power and discover the beautiful places of Poland along the route of the new Baltic Express.

All travel lectures take place in the third floor cinema room of the Telegraph Building. They are interactive, and there is room for questions and discussion with the audience after each one. In the case of lectures by Tadeáš Šíma and David Těšínský, publications chronicling their travels are also available for purchase on site. For more information about each lecture and tickets, visit telegraph.cz/program.
