Two of our films, right after each other! The films INSPIRATION: Embodying the Indescribable and GOOD BOY from Slovakia are short documentaries created as extensions to the exhibitions at the Telegraph Gallery. CONNECTION: Representing the Indescribable captures the creative process of artists trying to express indescribable feelings and ideas. GOOD BOY from Slovakia follows painter Andrej Dúbravský in the preparation of his exhibition and his personal reflections on the current socio-political situation in Slovakia. Both works are linked by the theme of reflection - how artists and viewers create their own inner worlds and search for deeper meaning.

CONNECTIONS: Representing the Indescribable (2024)
Through interviews and the artworks themselves, this short documentary reveals the essence of the imagination of contemporary Czech artists of different generations, whose work is an intimate testimony of spiritual experiences and phenomena often indescribable in words. The film features works by Karel Malich, Margita Titlova Ylovsky, Jan Hísko, Jiří Kornatovský, Inge Kosková, Dagmar Havlíčková, Anna Šimková, Tomáš Lampar, Jana Kasalová, Josef Duchan, Petr Nikl, Přemysl Martinec, Taj Spasská, Marcela Vorlíčková and Alžběta Krňanská. "These are artists who are able to disconnect from their own self-control, will and artistic intention, to connect to a certain transcendental space that exceeds us and to give artistic testimony about it," explained curator Terezie Zemánková, who guides the audience through the work of the artists mentioned in the documentary.

GOOD BOY from Slovakia (2025)
The film is about painter Andrej Dúbravský at the time of his exhibition called "Good Boy" at the Telegraph Gallery in Olomouc. Dúbravský's painting of two men kissing was criticised by the Slovak Culture Minister Martina Šimkovičová. She is known for her conservative views on issues such as support for the LGBT community, and her appointment under Robert Fico was accompanied by public protests demanding her resignation. The exhibition "Good Boy" is thus, among other things, the painter's reaction to the events in Slovakia.
