Experience growth with us.

This fall, we're bringing a series of lectures by successful freelancers and independent professionals who will present their journey and how they grew on their own.

This time we'll meet journalist, editor, board game creator, novelty collector and marathon enthusiast, Martin Kavka. Martin is the author of the legendary Czech 2.0 dictionary, which has been "trolling Czech speakers" for fifteen years, as it is a repository of slang and regional variants of our language as well as a generator of new, novel expressions.

The best of Czech 2.0 has been published by Martin together with Michal Škrabal in Hacked Czech.

In addition to neo-lexicology, Martin Kavka is also working on the issue of newsletters, publishing his own on newsletters.cz, not only about them, but about content creation in general, he makes a podcast called Tvůrcast, and together with his wife Alice Kavka he founded the company 4 Kavka, which reintroduces forgotten games (such as bouncy rubber) and invents new ones.

A short debate follows the lecture, where you can ask Martin Kavka anything you can think of. Who is an overdoctor, a groundskeeper, or a hotspot, and what does it mean when someone does powerpoint karaoke? What is it like to run a business with your own wife and what is his favourite childhood game? Martin Kavka will answer this and much more (if you ask him!).

The evening will be hosted by Kvido Lotrek.
