cinema lecture movie

A restored version of the feature-length combined fantasy-adventure film that shows the prehistoric stages of the Earth's origin, flora and fauna. The discovery of a prehistoric fossil challenges four curious boys to journey into the ancient past. Climb aboard the boat that takes us on a Journey to the Beginning of Time.

This already iconic fantasy-adventure film reveals the historical stages of the Earth, flora and fauna. In a follow-up talk, we'll look at mass extinctions and try to answer questions about where the species are and where they might be. We will look behind the scenes at basic biological and ecological principles and laws. We will also reflect on whether we might be on the threshold of another great extinction.

The lecture will be given by Lukáš Weber, an expert consultant at the Department of Ecology and Environment at the Faculty of Science, Palacký University in Olomouc.
