Chicago year 2035. A near future where robots are a natural part of human life. The main character, Detective Del Spooner (Will Smith), begins investigating the suspicious death of his longtime friend, Dr. Miles Hogenmiller. By all accounts, he committed suicide, but Spooner believes a robot is behind the murder, which others find completely incomprehensible and ridiculous. Despite this, he and the charming psychologist Susan Calvin embark on an investigation, and the strange events don't take long to unfold.
