Only nine-year-old Hogarth rescues a giant robot that has come to Earth from outer space. Hogarth tries to defend his new genius friend from government agents and soldiers.
In the seemingly peaceful town of Rockwell, Maine, in 1957, Hogarth, a nine-year-old boy, dreams of alien invasion and battles with communist agents. One day his dream comes true - a giant robot from outer space is said to have fallen into a nearby lake. Hogarth manages to fish the robot out and, despite his mother Annie's protests, hides it with his friend Dean. The robot's presence soon becomes known to government agent Kent Mansley, who wants to destroy the alien at any cost. And it will be up to Hogath to see if he succeeds.
