The 12th edition of the Future Gate festival will take place in Prague, Brno, Hradec Králové, Plzeň, Olomouc, Hodonín and Šumperk. You can look forward to a competition of new films, a competition of student films, legends of the genre, short films and a documentary section. It's going to be big, it's going to be unforgettable.
This year's theme will be The Human Body. Expect to see themes of cybernetic enhancement, genetic modification and the involvement of artificial intelligence. What does it mean to be human? If we can enhance our physical abilities or even replace body parts with technology, aren't we losing something essential of our humanity? Is our body merely a tool that we can change at will, or does it have an inherent value and identity that we should respect? Future Gate 2025 will once again look for inspiration in movies.
A tireless police officer (Peter Weller) relentlessly cracks down on all crime around him. Scientists and doctors have assembled him as the invincible crime-fighting cyborg "ROBOCOP". Resistant to bullets and bombs, and armed with the most advanced weapons, ROBOCOP is quickly making a name for himself on the violence-filled streets of Detroit. But despite his tough new exterior, ROBOCOP is tormented inside, shredding memories of his former life and vividly recalling the horrors of his own death at the hands of brutal killers. He doesn't just want justice ... he wants revenge!
