China is... What? Powerful, exotic, incomprehensible, aggressive. Everyone can add their own take on what they've heard or read about it. So the three of us decided (under the cover of baker's apprentices) to explore China from east to west in our own way, from the familiar Beijing to the little-accessible Xinjiang, backpacking through the mountains and by train. And as a bonus, we added a mountain border skirmish on the line of contact between the two Central Asian republics. It was a remarkable trip, mentally challenging and, for that very reason, unforgettable.

Radovan Jurka

If it weren't for the covid, he'd be in his twentieth season as a tour guide. He specializes in the USA, western Canada, New Zealand and selected countries in South America. In his spare time, he likes to freewheel his pilgrimage through life to places mostly in Asia and South America, though the western US is buried deepest under his skin. He likes to try to gain perspective on life on the ridges and in the valleys of mountain ranges.
