Beginning: 18:00
Pavel Korbička's exhibition, Space of Perception, will close on Sunday 13 2. Therefore, we have decided to give visitors one last guided tour.
Pavel Korbička (*1972) deals with light, space, movement and sound in his work. He works with specific places in which he responds to their uniqueness and their hidden orders, which he tries to activate by the presence of the viewer and his individual perception. His artistic activity lies between sculpture, architecture and scientific research.
Korbička graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (Studio of Sculpture-Space-Installation, Prof. Stanislav Kolíbal, Studio of Conceptual Tendencies, Prof. Miloš Šejn). Since 1998 he has been teaching at the Sculpture Studio 2 at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Brno.
In the exhibition at the Telegraph Gallery he presented a site-specific light installation made of polycarbonate plates, into which the viewer can enter and, thanks to optical light phenomena and binocular vision, experience states of his own physical imbalance, as a result of which a deeper self-awareness can occur.
Warning: the exhibition may be inappropriate for people with mental or neurological illness, for whom the distinctive light objects may cause discomfort or seizure.
