In the lecture series Collecting Contemporary Art, you will learn from successful and emerging collectors or curators and experts in investing in contemporary art what impulses led them to become interested in the contemporary art market. They will reveal how they build or help build their collections and what their criteria are when selecting specific works. The lecture series is aimed at laypeople interested in art and collectors who are wondering how to evaluate their collection or create a remarkable and unique collection.

The lecture will be given by curator and educator Vladimír Beskid.

Vladimir Beskid (1962*) graduated in Fine Arts from the Faculty of Arts at the J. A. Comenius University in Bratislava, and is currently the director of the Ján Koniarek Gallery in Trnava. However, managerial activity is not the only item on Beskid's profile: since the 1980s, several exhibitions have been held in domestic and international venues under the supervision of Vladimír Beskid as a curator.

The Open Studios festival, in which Beskid contributed his outputs from the perspective of an art historian and freelance curator, is certainly worth mentioning. Or his numerous publications in various catalogues and magazines (Flash Art, Adam Szentpétery: Codes of Geometry, Kvetán, Dictionary of World and Slovak Fine Arts of the Second Half of the 20th Century, Vlad Yurashko: Azylant Book, etc.).
