A tale from a fierce time when nature was still untamed and fraught with danger, this is the story of a calvados distiller who loses everything, finds himself bare-bottomed in the wilderness, and must quickly work his way up to the best woodsman far and wide. He'll measure wits, strength, and tenacity against not only the elements, but also a bewildering array of creatures, led by the titular hundreds of beavers.
This vividly told survival thriller is a much more entertaining and imaginative paraphrase of REVENT Resurrection, where instead of DiCaprio, a modern-day Buster Keaton fights for survival, and his animal adversaries are portrayed by humans in full-body plush costumes in the style of Studio Kamarád. The ecstaticly acclaimed indie genre-festival sensation is the work of hyperactive fantasists who introduced hardened audiences to a phantasmagorical explosion of low-cost imagery - The Lake Michigan Monster. Once again, their new release springs from the frenetic ADHD style of social media audio, this time fusing it with the aesthetics of classic slapstick features and the unbridled logic of the animated slapstick of the Looney Tunes series. Equipped with a spellbinding DIY creativity - combining green screen and realistic winter forest environments to maintain the gags' captivating physicality - they restore to cinema a dimension of hilarious entertainment and sensation capable of evoking unadulterated amazement.
