After a complicated and unsuccessful heroin deal, small-time drug dealer Frank loses his money and his goods and finds himself in huge debt to Balkan narco-baron Milo. Faced with Milo's growing frustration, Frank attempts to repay the money, but time passes and the pressure mounts. The Dealer, a 1996 Danish crime thriller and Nicolas Winding Refn's debut feature, is an adrenaline-pumping ride through Copenhagen's drug underworld. It is also the acting debut of well-known Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen. Nicholas Winding Refn's cult gangster film (Drive, Neon Demon) returns to cinema screens as part of the SCANDI showcase.
