For five years, young director Pepa Lubojacki has been recording the emotional stories of her own family. Why did addiction deprive her beloved brother and two cousins of relationships, a sense of security, health and a roof over their heads? And what if addiction itself is behind it all, but something that began much earlier? The novel mix of intimate diary footage, vivid photographs, stylized memories and graphic collages makes the film an original experience that is both raw and playful. As a director and sister, Pepa is faced with a question to which there is no easy answer: where does love end and control begin? To save or to let go? The brutally honest film won the Berlinale award for best documentary film.
