Yura, a young Ukrainian naturalist, searches for an endangered species of marmot, but instead witnesses a crime. With photographs as evidence, he contacts the editorial staff of a local newspaper, but soon discovers that no one is interested in facts or justice. As war looms on the horizon, Jura's naive vision of the world collapses in a whirlwind of fake news, rigged elections and mysterious sectarian rituals. Is Jura really an "endangered species" of honest man, or just a loser who has no chance of standing in this world?
