Paris, 1887. The duel, although officially banned, is still a common practice. And for many, the only way to maintain their honour. Clément Lacaze, a master fencer, tries in vain to dissuade his nephew from an unequal duel with the experienced Colonel Berchère. Marie-Rose Astié de Valsayre, a feminist who fights for women's equality, tries to prove that honour is not only a male issue. The historical film by actor and director Vincent Perez makes effective use of the different variants of duels - with cords, pistols or sabres on horseback.
The film won the Audience Award at the Karlovy Vary IFF.
