Telegraphic by Rita Koszorús, author of the new mural of the Telegraph building.

This screen print was created exclusively for Telegraph Gallery as part of the artist's residency, which took place in January and February this year. It was released in a limited edition of 100 copies.

Rita Koszorús (*1989, Bratislava) began her studies at the Josef Vydra School of Applied Arts in Bratislava. From 2008 to 2014, she continued at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava — first in the Department of Free Printmaking, and later in the Department of Painting, in the studio led by Prof. Daniel Fischer. In 2013, she completed an internship at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in Budapest, in the studio of Imre Bukta. She has participated in several international residencies, including in Berlin, Paris, Porto, and Budapest. Her work has been featured in both solo and group exhibitions in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and abroad. She has been a four-time finalist of the Painting of the Year competition and was also shortlisted for the Novum Foundation Award. In 2021, she won first prize in the VÚB Painting of the Year competition. Her works are held in private and public collections.

Through abstract forms, the artist explores themes of identity and the search for home. Her practice includes canvas works and layered material collages. More recently, she has been creating sculptural installations derived from her two-dimensional pieces.
