What are we planning for March at the Telegraph Gallery?
If you visit the Telegraph Gallery regularly, you will know that our programme goes beyond the gallery space. In addition to long-running exhibitions, there are pop-up exhibitions in the cinema and loft throughout the year, as well as residencies by Czech and international artists, always ending with an Open Studio in their studio. In addition, you can look forward to lecture series focused on the work of contemporary artists, the work of curators, and on contemporary art collecting with collectors, gallerists and curators.
Spring is coming and with it a new exhibition! Right at the beginning of March, you will be able to enjoy paintings from Transylvania, there will be a lecture on art collecting and we will end the month with an Open Studio with the new artist in residence, Lukáš Machalický.
5 3 2026 / 18:00 Opening and afterparty of the Transylvanian Painting Today exhibition
A new exhibition of works by artists from the Transylvanian art scene. Curator Jane Neal has focused on figurative painting, which has become one of the hallmarks of the Cluj School. Their works will be on view until mid-June. Traditionally, the opening will be followed by an after party, this time not only at Telegraph Pulse but also at Telegraph Lofts. The after party is for TLG Club members only. Membership can be purchased online at the e-shop or at the reception.
19 3 2026 / 6:00 p.m. Anna König Vlk: About collecting and gallery management
Anna König Vlk is a gallerist and curator: She runs INDUSTRA ART in Brno, founded and manages the König Vlk Gallery, works as a consultant for gallery and exhibition management, works independently as a curator and is also involved in her own artistic work. In this lecture series she will talk about gallery management and gallery management, curating and what these roles look like in everyday practice. In doing so, she will draw on her own experience of building and running gallery projects and how programming, working with artists and specific operational decisions meet in practice.
25 3 2026 / 18:00 Lukáš Machalický: Open studio
In March, new artist Lukáš Machalický will visit our studio to work on his works. His work touches on social memory within the real environment with which it is connected. Recently, he has increasingly focused on the relationship between text, as a sign of a certain attitude, and its visual transformation into a spatial formation, most often a video installation. In a number of his early projects, Machalický elaborates on his personal experience of urbanism or architecture.
You will be able to see the results of his residency at the Open Studio at the end of the month.
