January 2024. What are we up to?

If you visit the Telegraph Gallery regularly, you will know that its programme extends beyond the gallery space on the 1st floor of the Telegraph building. In addition to exhibitions in the gallery, throughout the year you can look forward to pop-up exhibitions in the cinema and loft, residencies by Czech and international artists always ending with an Open Studio in the studio, lecture series on the work of contemporary artists and the work of curators, and talks on contemporary art collecting with collectors, gallerists and curators.

We have three exciting events coming up in January, two of which are directly linked to the current exhibition Connected.

Tue 16 1 2024 / 18:00 Presentation by Jana Kasalová

Are you interested in the work of contemporary artists and the work of curators? If you'd like to take a peek behind the scenes of the art world and hear about art from the artists themselves, the lecture series Prezentace is the perfect choice.

Among the artists and curators, this time Jana Kasalová, whose work can be seen in addition to the presentation at the current exhibition Napojení at the Telegraph Gallery, will present her work.

Fri 19 1 2024 / 18:00 Petr Nikl: Connections

Have you ever had the opportunity to see a performance by Petr Nikl?

Petr Nikl, one of the fifteen artists exhibiting in the current show, is headed to the gallery to perform in front of his works. The latter is strongly associated with the person of Petr Nikl, of course, along with painting, drawing, music, theatre and photography.
How will this take place? Automatic drawings will be created spontaneously by traces of electronic machines and toys right before your eyes.

Wed 31 1 2024 / 18:00 Contemporary Art Collecting: Pavel Kubesa

Someone collects stamps, gramophone records or c's. We collect art!
That's why, for the second year in a row, we are calling in expert help - collectors, gallerists and curators who advise on how to get started in collecting contemporary art, how to conceive a collection, what is currently interesting on the art market, how relationships between artists and galleries work. They also often talk about their journey into the art world.
This time Pavel Kubesa, curator and director of the NoD Gallery, accepted our invitation.

We look forward to seeing you!
