The 12th edition of the Future Gate festival will traditionally take place in Prague, Brno, Hradec Králové, Plzeň, Olomouc, Hodonín and Šumperk. You can look forward to a competition of new films, a competition of student films, legends of the genre, short films and a documentary section. It's going to be big, it's going to be unforgettable.
This year's theme will be The Human Body. We can look forward to topics such as cybernetic enhancements, genetic modifications, and the integration of artificial intelligence. What does it mean to be human? If we can enhance our physical abilities or even replace body parts with technology, aren't we losing something essential of our humanity? Is our body merely a tool that we can change at will, or does it have an inherent value and identity that we should respect? Future Gate 2025 will once again seek inspiration in films.
