Christian is the curator of a prestigious modern art museum, which is currently preparing a bold conceptual exhibition. Its central idea is a 4 x 4 metre square. Inside it, the rule of absolute equality and tolerance applies. Together with a PR agency, the museum is looking for the ideal strategy to make the event visible in a distracted and eventful media space. But then Christian loses his wallet and mobile phone in a bizarre form of pickpocketing, and one of his subordinates devises an ingenious way to get them back. As usual, Christian can't focus on anything but himself. And like the whole of Swedish society, the conceptual exhibition begins to get mired in the bizarre confusion that defines the tension between liberal values, egoism and selfishness. Welcome to the square called contemporary Europe."
