After the stunning success of two live broadcasts from the Dejvice Theatre, The Clogged System and The Elegance of a Molecule, we are coming again after a year with another unrepeatable event. For one night only - Thursday 10 April 2025 at 7pm - you can see one of the most popular productions from the theatre's repertoire, the modern classic A. P. Chekhov's play The Seagull, directed by Michal Vajdička. This will be a very special event, as it will be a live stream of the premiere of this production and therefore the last opportunity to see it. The main roles are played by Klára Melíšková, Jaroslav Plesl, Veronika Khek Kubařová, Ivan Trojan and Miroslav Krobot, and you can look forward to many other well-known faces from Dejvice.

The first of the so-called "Racek". The first of Chekhov's Big Four plays (apart from The Seagull, it includes Uncle Vanya, The Three Sisters and The Cherry Orchard) premiered in 1896 at the Alexandrinsky Theatre in St Petersburg and was a complete flop. It was not until the Moscow Art Theatre production in 1898, directed by K. S. Stanislavsky and V. I. Nemirovich-Danchenko, that it achieved fame. "A young girl like you has lived on the shore of the lake since childhood; she loves the lake like a seagull, she is happy and free like a seagull. But by chance a man appears, sees her, and having nothing else to do, brings her to ruin, like the seagull here..."(Trigorin to Nina, The Seagull, Act II)
