SCANDI, a showcase of the diversity and richness of contemporary Scandinavian cinema that stimulates debate on pressing social issues. A Nordic experience that sends shivers down the spine.

The riveting biopic of Swedish politician and statesman Dag Hammarskjöld was nominated for eight Swedish Guldbagge Film Awards. Director Per Fly, who has already made several biopics and thrillers, once again shows a masterful handling of suspense and the combination of factual and fictional narrative. In 1961, the Cold War is brewing and the political and social atmosphere could not be more tense. The indomitable Hammarskjöld has been a respected diplomat for several years now, and thanks to the principles of preventive diplomacy he has managed to prevent several conflicts by correcting the broken relations between East and West. The plot of the film begins when, as Secretary-General of the United Nations, he sets himself his most challenging goal yet - to bring peace to decolonising African countries. At the same time, however, he begins to realise the enormous workload for which he is losing his personal life. Inevitably, life's mission begins to clash with personal happiness. The turning point for him is an operation in the Congo where UN personnel are murdered. He immediately embarks on a peace journey. This gripping historical drama offers a portrait of the man John F. Kennedy believed was the greatest statesman of the last century. He is portrayed in a committed manner by Swedish star actor Mikael Persbrandt.
