What would happen if you squeezed five movies into one evening that made no one want to leave the theater? A butcher accused just because he's different. An old woman who was waiting to die - and instead came a soccer ball and a 17-year-old boy. An 1813 Englishwoman who chooses the least appropriate time in her life for her days. A world where a kiss is a crime, or a pub night where one penniless man pays with a song - and the whole bar suddenly can't stop wondering what the others have been carrying all along. Five Oscar-nominated films from five different corners of the world - but most importantly, five proofs that a shorter story can strike more precisely, more deeply and more poignantly than anything you've seen at the cinema this year.
