John Singer Sargent is known as the greatest portraitist of his time. But what made his portraits remarkable was his power over his models, over their clothing and over the way they were presented. Through interviews with curators, contemporary designers and style influencers, Exhibition on Screen explores how Sargent's unique work has influenced modern art, culture and fashion. Filmed at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and Tate Britain Gallery, London, the film features extraordinary exhibitions that reveal Sargent's ability to capture diverse personalities and gender identities. Alongside 50 of Sargent's paintings, there are also stunning pieces of clothing and accessories of his models that draw the viewer directly into the artist's studio.
